Common Name: Sundown Coneflower, Hybrid Coneflower
Sundown Coneflower, Hybrid Coneflower are a cross between eastern purple coneflowers and Ozark coneflowers. They have beautiful flowersheads with orange-red petals, surrounding a dark red cone. These flowers are attractive to butterflies and provide seeds for hungry birds in the winter. They grow best under full or partial sun and in rich to average soil with good drainage. Picking off spent flowers will encourage continued flowering. They will make an attractive addition to any butterfly gardens or used as sunny perennial borders.
