Striking flowers held on short stems atop mounds of slightly hairy, olive green foliage that give a ruffled appearance. Remove spent flowers so newly growth buds unfurl and bloom well. Its strong fragrant is irresistible to butterflies. Deer resistant. Grows at fast rate, reaching 16 inches tall and spread 18 inches wide in clump-forming growth habit. For best flowering, place the plant in direct heat of sunlight. It tolerates partial sun in rich, any moist, well-drained soil. Drought tolerant.
